Ottoman Ego-Documents were discussed on the “Gündem Ötesi” TV programme!
Professor Selim Karahasanoğlu appeared as a guest on TRT1’s “Gündem Ötesi” programme, moderated by Pelin Çift. The programme was broadcasted live on June 24, 2023, and focused on the life of an Ottoman qadi concerning the diary of Sadreddinzâde Telhîsî Mustafa Efendi, spanning from 1711 to 1735.
Throughout the program, discussions revolved around Telhîsî Mustafa Efendi's profession as a qadi, alongside his career, daily life, emotions, and other similar Ottoman ego-documents.

The seminar series titled "Nasıl Yazdım" organised by the Biography Institute,
featured discussions on Ottoman Ego-Documents.
Professor Selim Karahasanoğlu was invited to give a speech in the seminar series “Nasıl Yazdım” organised by the Biography Institute to discuss his book titled Qadi and His Diary: An Examination of Sadreddinzade Telhisi Mustafa Efendi’s Diary (1711-1735). The seminar took place at the FSMVU Uskudar Campus.
Karahasanoğlu provided important insights for researchers on how to interpret the diary of an
Ottoman qadi spanning over twenty-four years, discussing Ottoman ego-documents and methodologies. He also shared his evaluations of Ottoman ego-documents and studies conducted on related texts in Türkiye. Karahasanoğlu mentioned the ongoing projects and future vision of the Center for the Study of Ego-Documents, which he currently directs. The seminar was followed with great interest by the audience.

İhsan Fazlıoğlu evaluated Ottoman Ego Documents Conference on the "Soruların Peşinde" TV programme!
Professor İhsan Fazlıoğlu spoke on the ‘Ottoman Ego Documents Conference’, held between 15-17 June 2022 at the Aşk Paşa Conference Hall at Istanbul Medeniyet University, in “Soruarın Peşinde" programme of Channel TVNET on 19.06.2022. The programme moderated by Yusuf Genç continue with the ekstra-ordinary questions like “Who are We and I?”, “Is it history or past? …
Fazlıoğlu mentioned and evaluated the Ottoman Ego Documents Symposium in the first ten minutes of the programme. He pointed out that the concept of "Ego documents" was introduced to Turkish historiography literature through both the Workshop on Ottoman Ego-Documents, organized by Professor Selim Karahasanoğlu in 2020, and the symposium with the same name, that has just concluded. He emphasized that many known and newly discovered texts, which were written by a variety of individuals from different segments of society such as ulema, statesmen, civil servants, and sufis, were studied and discussed under this concept. Fazlıoğlu also added that through this successful international symposium a new field has emerged for young academicians pursuing postgraduate studies.
